Description
On Wednesday August 23 (2017), a speed-flying pilot was killed on ground impact at Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval in Haute-Savoie (French Alps).
According to the PGHM mountain rescuers in Chamonix, this Frenchman in his thirties had a problem with his glider collapsing as he approached the ground.
He then collided violently with rocks and fell a hundred meters.
Two dead in less than a week, 23 August (at Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval) and 30 August 2017 (Chamonix).
