Who is responsible for your data

Speed Flying Fatality List is part of the BASEaddict project, run by volunteers. For anything to do with this policy or your personal data, contact us at hello@baseaddict.com.

Cookies we use

We use a small number of cookies, split into two kinds:

• Strictly necessary — set automatically, no consent required: cookie_consent (remembers your choice below) and supporters_seen (remembers which "thank you" messages you've already been shown, so the same one doesn't repeat on your next page view). Neither is used for tracking or advertising.
• Analytics — Google Analytics cookies (e.g. _ga, _gid), set only if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. You can decline them, or change your mind later via "Cookie settings" in the footer, without affecting how the site works.

You can also block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, which will apply on top of whatever you choose here.

Google Analytics

When you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand overall site usage (which pages are visited, how often, roughly from where). This data is pseudonymous — it's tied to a cookie identifier, not to your name or any account — and we don't combine it with the donation data described below. Accepting sends some of this data to Google LLC in the United States, under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. You can decline analytics cookies entirely and still use every part of the site normally.

Donation data (Ko-Fi)

If you support the BASEaddict project through a Ko-Fi donation, we store the name and e-mail address you provide in our own database, for as long as needed to run the "thank you" notification described below and to keep a record of the donation — until you ask us to delete it (see "Your rights" below). We don't store or display the donated amount publicly.

Your name (not your e-mail or the amount) is shown to other visitors in a "Thank you" notification on the site, unless you mention in the donation comment that you'd like to stay anonymous — in that case we don't store your data in our database at all.

Ko-Fi itself, as the platform processing the donation and payment, also handles your data under its own privacy policy — see Ko-Fi's Privacy Policy.

Your rights

Regarding any personal data we hold about you, you have the right to:

• ask what data we hold about you, and get a copy of it (access);
• ask us to correct it if it's wrong or incomplete (rectification);
• ask us to delete it (erasure) — for donors, this also removes your name from the "thank you" rotation;
• ask us to restrict or stop processing it, or object to us doing so;
• ask for a copy of it in a portable format (data portability);
• withdraw consent at any time — for cookies, via "Cookie settings" in the footer; for donation data, by e-mailing us;
• lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority, if you believe we've mishandled your data.
