Description
A speedflyer has been found lifeless in the Mürren region of the Bernese Oberland. The 40-year-old Australian, who lived in the canton of Bern, was reported missing late on Thursday afternoon.
According to initial reports, the man had gone with another person to a place called ‘Chlys Schilthoren’, where he was the first to set off. He then got into difficulty and fell, Bern cantonal police and the Oberland regional public prosecutor's office said on Friday.
As part of an extensive search undertaken by a Rega and Air Glaciers helicopters and members of Swiss Alpine Rescue, the man's body was located in the evening, the police said. An investigation has been opened to clarify the circumstances and sequence of the accident.
